ASuReMacro - New Workshop Report

A recent report has been published under the project titled "A Sustainable and Resilient Macroalgal Cultivation Industry in the Nordic and Arctic Region" (ASuReMacro). The project, ASuReMacro, aims to build the knowledge foundation to develop a sustainable and resilient macroalgal cultivation industry in the Nordic and Arctic region. The report outlines the details of a workshop held on March 15 at the SALT cultural centre in Suðuroy, Faroe Islands, called "Macroalgal Cultivation on Faroese Fjords - The Need for Environmental Assessment and Monitoring". The Nordic Council of Ministers has provided funding for this project.

During the workshop, ASuReMacro project partners gave presentations on various key aspects and expertise related to macroalgae cultivation. Key speakers from selected Faroese stakeholders, representing the public sector and industry, were also invited to give presentations. Following the presentations, an informal panel discussion was held for comments and questions. The workshop's informal atmosphere ensured a great environment where people felt comfortable discussing opportunities and challenges in the macroalgae industry, in addition to key environmental issues.

The report summarizes each presentation and includes presentation slides wherever permission from the presenters was given. Additionally, it includes key points from the panel discussion.

The report is available in a web and a PDF version: https://zenodo.org/records/10185198
